Hell yeah. Even rocking black eyeliner in Summer! It’s hard, but it can be done.

Getting through summer in head-to-toe black is no small feat; consequently, will be posting inspiration here. Can it be done without looking like an idiot? Apparently, yes, it can!

Currently reading Lauren Bacall’s autobiography By Myself… and then some, which I’ve been meaning to do for years. Good god, it’s utterly unputdownable.

Love the way the leather balances the ruffles.
Also, the shoes in this shoot are awesomely insane; go check them out!

Oh, and masquerade balls, though I think The Phantom of the Opera can probably claim some influence there too.

Labyrinth is still one of my all-time favourite movies. I think I first saw it when I was five or six years old, and became totally obsessed with it. I then rediscovered it years later, and unlike some other childhood favourites such as The Little Mermaid and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I never outgrew it. Sure, my appreciation of the film had matured a lot, but I think the ability of a movie to appeal to people throughout their lives is a sign of greatness.
Jareth was my first crush, which might say something slightly terrifying about my taste in men, but whatever. ‘Course, I now appreciate the tights in a way that went straight over my head as a child. ;) David Bowie’s one of my favourite musicians and I think I have to thank this film for alerting me to his greatness fairly early on.
